Who We Are

Picture

Nature lovers living
the Adventure of a lifetime on a tropical island

Twelve years ago we left France to build a different life. After living in Costa Rica for many years, we were bowled over by the untouched beauty of the Golfo de Chiriqui.
Since 2014, we have been living a new life with a renewed sense of purpose.

The adventure begins on Isla Muerto Dead Man Island, the name always elicits a reaction however there's nothing sinister to it. The island has a long history and many archeological artifacts were found but it's really the shape of the island - long and thin, with elevations reminiscent of a recumbent figure - that gave its name. The position as though it's heading out to sea makes me think of the burial ceremonies in Lord of the rings and Game of Thrones!
Situated on the Northern tip -  the leg - our ten acre property straddles the island and reaches down to the east and west shores giving us amazing sunrises and sunsets.
We have settled into the island without upsetting the natural balance and hope to share the experience with those who share our vision: conservative use of resources, protection of the environment, permaculture.

The reclining human form  is the reason behind the name 'isla de muertos'
